Cherry American or black
cherry (Prunus serotina),
the wild cousin of the domestic fruit cherry,
though valued for its blossoms and fruit, is
not of commercial value for its wood. All types
of cherry grow elegant grain patterns and burls
are quite common. Black cherry grows throughout
the US and Canada.
